The hill fort, Gwalior Fort, is located near Gwalior, in the Indian state Madhya Pradesh. It has to be the one of the oldest forts to exist in the Indian subcontinent. It has existed for more than 10 centuries by now, but some of it remains indicate that the fort has been existing from the beginning of the 6th century. The fort has been under the rule of so many dynasties, from rajputs, to mughals, to vassal state, is now a property of the central government of India. The fort consists of palaces, temples, water tanks. The fort holds the history of India within it, with all the battles it beared.
