It is Nana Patekar, also known as Vishwanath Patekar. Nana mainly works for Hindi and Marathi films. Patekar was born on 1 January 1951 in Murud-Janjira of Raigad District, Maharashtra. Apart from acting, he is also well known as a writer, narrator, director, producer, and philanthropist. Patekar got married at the age of 27 to Neelkanti. They have a son named Malhar Patekar. Nana Patekar made his debut in Bollywood with the 1978 movie Gaman, after which he played several small roles in Marathi cinema. His performance as a crime lord in Parinda (1989) received lots of recognition and praise from the mainstream Hindi cinema. For the same movie, Nana won his first National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and was also awarded the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. His directorial debut was the movie Prahaar (1991), co-starring Madhuri Dixit. He won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his role in Angaar (1992). Patekar’s role as a truant, gambling son in Krantiveer (1994), won him the National Film Award for Best Actor and also won the Filmfare Award and the Star Screen Awards. Nana’s role as a sadist husband in Agni Sakshi (1996) earned him the second National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Nana continued playing roles such as a deaf father to Manisha Koirala in Khamoshi (1996), a gangster in Ghulam-E-Mustafa (1997), an honest, but the maverick cop in Yeshwant (1997) and a schizophrenic in Wajood (1998). During the early 2000s, he gave notable performances in Shakti: The Power (2002) and Apaharan (2005). Apaharan won him his second Best Villain award at Filmfare as well as the Star Screen Award Best Villain. Nana Patekar has also done comic roles, such as in Welcome (2007) and its sequel Welcome Back (2015), which were Patekar's highest-grossing film releases. Nana’s next superhit film was Prakash Jha's multi-star political drama film Raajneeti (2010). Released in the year 2016, his role as Ganpatrao "Appa" Belwalkar in the Marathi film Natsamrat garnered him the Filmfare Marathi Award for Best Actor.
